New Directions is looking for volunteer chaperones to support and assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities on group vacation tours.

NEW DIRECTIONS for people with disabilities, inc. (New Directions Travel) is looking for volunteer chaperones to support and assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) on group vacation tours. Experience with people with IDD is preferred, but not required.

Some of the fun places that we travel to are Disneyland, Cruises, Dude Ranches, Universal Studios, Las Vegas, Baseball Spring Training in Phoenix, Hawaii and many more exciting places. Tours range from four to 10 days.

Requirements include having a respect for people with disabilities, a love for travel, a professional appearance and pleasant disposition, good communication skills, accurate attention to detail, good health with the ability to lift 50 pounds, strong stamina, and the ability to volunteer for long days and still have a top-notch attitude.

Further requirements include CPR/first aid certification, a clean driving/DMV record, and criminal (police fingerprint) clearance, reference and background checks.

All tour related expenses are covered for volunteers.
