HAWAII ~ SUMMER IN WAIKIKI

Aloha! All aboard for your vacation in paradise. When our plane lands, we'll be treated to a traditional flower lei greeting and then settle into our luxurious resort hotel, perfectly located on famous Waikiki Beach. All the charms of Honolulu are right at our fingertips.

All kinds of exciting activities await us. What shall we do first? We can start on our Hawaiian tan at Waikiki Beach or shop for the perfect souvenir at the International Market. How about exploring the island? Honolulu is located on the tropical island of Oahu, which offers many breath taking sights and lovely scenery. Within sight of our hotel is the dormant Diamond Head Volcano, which offers some fantastic photo opportunities. We might also witness a piece of American History by visiting the WWII Arizona Memorial located at Pearl Harbor. At Waimea Falls Park, amid the dense jungle foliage, there is a lovely array of tropical waterfalls to amaze and delight us.

How about educating ourselves with some traditional Hawaiian culture? We can get a glimpse of Eastern philosophy with a visit to Byodo-In, a spectacular Buddhist Temple. We can also tour the Polynesian Cultural Center, with native art, pottery displays, history and plenty of shopping. Or perhaps a morning walk on the glistening white sandy beaches of Hanauma Bay will catch our fancy? Snorkeling in the crystal clear blue waters is absolutely breath taking. Don't forget the sunscreen.

On one evening, we'll put on our Hawaiian shirts and go to an authentic Luau. Get ready to shake your hips as you learn to hula dance! We'll sample many delicious local dishes like Mahi Mahi fish, poi, BBQ chicken and taro root salad.

As we leave the island of Oahu, we'll take with us all the many happy summer memories that were created in this Hawaiian paradise.
